Food Report WDW Nov 2015 – Day 7 and 8

Our last full day at WDW had arrived and we didnt seem to eat that much so I have included our food on our travel home day too.

Today started with a trip to Epcot as we hadnt yet eaten all the dishes from the Scotland booth. The cast member on the till was so excited that we actually Scottish.

First up was Seared sea scallop with spinach-cheddar gratin and crispy bacon.


The scallop was a bit overcooked but the spinach was excellent.

Next was Fresh potato pancake with Scottish smoked salmon and herb sour cream.


I am not sure what I expected but this wasnt it. I expected more of a potato scone texture to the pancake and I hated the sauce. Jamie really liked the dish and without the sauce I would have said the same.

We had the best dish at he booth last – Haggis with neeps and tatties: Traditional Haggis with rutabaga and mashed potatoes.


I still cant really believe it but some of the best Haggis I have had in my life was at a food stall in Epoct. Crazy but true. It had the perfect haggis texture – not too soggy and not too dry, and the perfect taste with just a small hint of pepperiness (I dont think thats even a word).  Disney you have done Scotland proud!

Not quite full enough we walked over to the Ireland booth so I could have my favourite food and wine item ever – Lobster and seafood fisherman’s pie.


It was as wonderful as I remembered – huge amounts of seafood in the dish.

Jamie stopped off at Morocco for the Kefta pocket: Ground seasoned beef in a pita pocket.


Our last stop of the 2015 Epcot Food and Wine Festival was the Japan booth. We wanted to try the second sushi option – Tempura Shrimp Roll: cut inside our roll, with cucumber finished with Teriyaki sauce.


I like the sushi at Disney – it always tastes really fresh.

We parked hopped over to Magic Kingdom later that day and had a hot dog each at Casey’s Corner.  We had the Chili Cheese Dog and the Barbeque Slaw Dog. Both super messy to eat – I would suggest not to wear white!DSC00950.JPGDSC00951.JPG

For dinner we were naughty and ordered in a Domino’s. Its something we  have done at least once every trip so its a bit of a tradition now although not always from Domino’s.  Domino’s do these amazing pasta dishes that are in bread bowls – this time we had chicken alfedo.



Our pizzas were peperoni and philly cheesesteak. Just so much better than at home.

Then our quick week in WDW was over and it was our day to travel home.

Before our Magical Express pick up we headed to Disney Springs for some lunch at Earl of Sandwich. Tuna for me and Holiday sandwich for Jamie.  These are super yummy warm sandwiches. The pictures really made them look awful so you will just need to take my word for how good they are.


Ghirardelli was our last port of call and we ended our Disney holiday with a glorious chocolate fudge sundae. Perfect.


Before getting on the plane we had a Burger King as the food on the way home in normally awful.  This wasnt much better – just a greasy bit of meat.


Our food report ends here as I didnt take any pics on the plane home – I had packed away my camera and phone and there was a weird man sitting next to me.

Overall our food was excellent on this trip. Onsite Disney restaurants are often moaned about that they are expensive and whilst you will get cheaper, excellent quality meals offsite for us the experience is often worth the extra cost.

Thanks for looking at all our food pictures – we have really enjoyed putting together this report. Often we forget large parts of our trip but we have relived so many great memories whilst going through the pictures.

    I am now KICKING myself for missing the Scotland booth at F&W! I will have to make sure that is on my list for next year. Everything looks delicious 🙂

      If it comes back this year I would say you have to try it! I so hope it’s back this year.
