As I said in my opening blog we are going to Disney World in November for a week. This trip is for my big birthday. Cant believe I am going to be 30! I was sure I had only just turned 21. I am calling this the practice trip as I have never written about my plans before or done any kind of trip report. Over the next 6 weeks before we fly I will share all our daily plans and all the goodies I have bought for our trip – I will start just now with the boring bits, our accommodation and flights.
In March 2015 we became DVC members. This is Disney’s Vacation Club – its like a timeshare with a points system. This trip we will be using our points to cover our accommodation.
Our Journey To Orlando
Living in Scotland flights can be a bit frustrating. They only go direct in the summer and as we are travelling in November we have to go indirect.
I had been watching the flight prices for months, due to annual leave we could only go certain dates, and the prices were a little on the high side around £500 each. Then one rainy morning in June I did my daily flight price check and there they were – British Airways flights on our dates with one stop in London for only £340 each! I have never whipped out my credit card so quickly.
We start our journey at Glasgow Airport at 5am on a Monday morning…there is only one thing for it…Breakfast here….
Frankie and Bennys!!
We are on the 7.00am flight to Gatwick and after a three hour wait we will be on our way to Orlando at 11.30am.
We will then spend 10 short hours doing this….
Silly selfies, haribo, movies, sleep and food. Maybe not in that order.
Once we are through immigration and customs where we will hopefully be welcomed to the USA, we will be heading here…
Disney’s Magical Express. We dont hire a car on our holidays so Magical Express is the perfect way to get from the airport to Disney.
Then its off to our first home of the trip for 4 nights…
This is Disney’s Animal Kingdom Villas Kidani Village
We have never stayed at Animal Kingdom lodge but have visited Jambo House for a meal at Jiko.
We will be staying in a savannah view studio.
To say I am excited is an understatement. I cant wait to wake up in the morning and see all the animals out my window.
Then after our four glorious nights we will be heading here…
Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort
This is our home DVC resort and again it is our first time staying at the resort. This is one of the resorts that without DVC I think it would always have been out of our price range. I love anything Polynesian themed and I think this resort is just amazing. Also being just a short monorail ride from Magic Kingdom will be awesome.
We will be staying in a studio room in a standard view room which I think will look a bit like this…
The last thing to mention will be our theme park tickets. We are super lucky to have visited WDW in March of this year. On that trip we have 14 day ultimate tickets. We upgraded these whilst in Orlando to annual passes as it was cheaper than buying another set of tickets for this trip.
Some images are mine but most are from google. I will replace them all after my trip.
